Quantam of Solace ... I miss Bond
i went to see "Bond, James Bond" .... by the end of the movie i felt i had entered the wrong hall...... it was just another action movie, where the hero looked more like the villain........ the action sequences were so fast, that i couldnt make out the alfaromeo from astra martin, who was getting hurt and who was hitting, who fell down and who got up....... the story line was bad.... the villain was not villainous enough.... bond not charming enough....all is all not worth it......:(....

when will time change?
i want to believe that times have changed... i want to believe that india is changing...... that the "soch" of the people has changed..... i want to believe in "The Secret" (by Rhonda B.) that if you can think, know and feel it, it happens!!!!!! but [sigh] does it really!!!
we may have moved to the 21st century, america may have elected its first black president...... but has the "change really come" to india......
in reflection when i look back, i feel i have lived in a cocoon always..... and now when the shell broke and I was ready to fly I didnt want to leave my cocoon 'coz its goddamn the place on earth......
[sigh][sigh] i was brought up by parents who taught me never to bias against people based on religion, caste and region...... i am best friends with a christian, muslim and a sikh...... they have been my friends for decades.... yes! i have a point and this discussion is leading to it...... the point is that after all these years, after studies n work n marriage n our share of ups and downs...... its incredible to see that bondage parents put on their children at this age n time.......
they have let them study, given them perfect values.... each one of them is a mature individual, then why hold them back now......????
why not trust them to make a right decision for themsleves....????
dont they trust their upbringing????
dont they trust their children to take the right decision for themselves????
cant they let go of their chickens when they r ready to fly out of the nest????
are they really that insecure??? do they always need to feel in control all the time???
is the false image in the society more important than the happiness of their own children????
and does the society really care?????????????
:( i am sad for everyone who is an educated, MATURE adult... yet had to face the family backlash when the decided to get married to the partner of their choice......

Review Magique @ Garden of Five Senses, New Delhi
ahhhh........ now this place is awesome....this place is exclusive, chic & very romantic......it has a balinese feel to it..... the owner of the place (mohit sikka) had the guts to open a place in delhi - a land of extreme climates (extreme heat, extreme cold and humidity), which is half outdoors and half indoors....finally delhites have a place to go when the weather is excellent .......now we dont have to go and hide ourselves in the mall always......& as you enter Magique, you feel you are transported to a different world.... a world away from dust and noise of the city.....
the service, the ambiene, the drinks everything is top class...... food is just about alright..... but hey!!! its a MUST visit in good weather.....
p.s.- the place is terribly expensive.... bill for 3 was 7500 (included several drinks & snacks, and 1 main course

Moti Mahal @ MGF Mall Gurgaon
Its sooooooooooo bad....... that i dont know where to begin..... so alright i may not be gourmet food expert, but i do know how good food tastes like.... and well!!! it doesnt taste good there.....
but lets first start with the deco.... the cashier counter looks like a counter at some sleazy bar, the walls are adorned with ironing board (or something like that)..... the color scheme so dull...... aaaaaaa......
since there is nothing i can say about the deco or the service.... let me tell you how bad the food is , the food is so bad that the restaurant even allows you to bring in pizza hut pizzas and eat it there....(kids on the next table only ate the pizzas).. that really shows belief in their own products....... !!!!
and this is the place owned by the guy who gave us the tandoori chicken and butter chicken........ stay away - is my only suggestion

“People are more effectively motivated by myths and symbols than by logic and reasons.”
Although the reasoning side of my brain understands that logically myths are stories being passed through generations. A story that’s neither authenticity nor its origin can be proven. But despite that understanding, I still believe that people are more effectively motivated by myths and symbols than by logic and reasons. Humans require a cause to motivate them. Myths provide that cause and symbols provide a sense of belonging.
It should be known that myths have historical basis. A myth is something that is born from truth, but not necessarily 100% true. Ancient peoples used myths to explain things usually in nature that they could not understand. For example- Ancient Chinese could not explain the solar eclipses, so their myth was that a dragon was eating the sun. This is not the best example of how myths motivate people more than logic and reason , instead it simply explains how myths get originated.
